How and Why We've Embraced Being a Value Driven Business
Culture and values are terms that are bandied about the boardroom and HR department almost as frequently as technologists yammer on about digital transformation and innovation. While they may sound great, and exploring their potential can unearth some interesting facts about your business, the reality is unless you commit to putting them into practice they’ll never be more than just words and ideas floating in the corporate ether.
Over the past year NashTech has gone through something of a spiritual transformation. We’ve done a lot of soul searching, looking closely at the way we operate, the service we deliver and the people who make us the company we are.
Our Values
Through conversations with our clients, self-assessment and reflection, we’ve pinpointed the behaviours and values that matter most to us as an organisation. Below I’ve outlined each value and how we put them into practice.
Strong Client Relationships
Our clients sit at the core of everything we do. As a customer-centric business, we are passionate about their success and working with them to achieve their vision.
How we put it into practice:
At the outset of any new project, we invest a significant amount of time in understanding the company, the people we’ll be working with, the project’s objectives and the role technology will play in achieving them.
Throughout all projects we believe in maintaining an open, transparent dialogue with our clients so that, at any given time, they can see what’s being done and we can flag any concerns and potential improvements at the earliest possible stage.
The benefit:
Aligning architects, analysts, engineers and testers closely with our clients significantly reduces the friction that plagues so many software development projects. Everyone understands the processes and methodologies and what is required of them.
Beyond the functional benefits, valuing client relationships instils a strong sense of ownership over each project. Our clients have entrusted us to help them realise their vision and we want to see them succeed, at a personal and professional level.
Agility & Adaptability
Technology continues to advance at a meteoric pace. This, in turn, means our clients may have to pivot and adjust to changing demands and opportunities. To deliver the best experience and results we cannot be rigid in our practices and processes.
How we put it into practice:
While we have our own, default set of practices and processes, grounded in the AGILE methodology, we appreciate that every organisation is different and there is no one-size-fits all approach to development.
While some clients might prefer to utilise our processes, we encourage our teams to integrate with the client’s development teams as seamlessly as possible, establishing and refining the approach that works best for them.
The benefit:
Speed, synergy and trust are the standout benefits here. Our flexibility and ability to quickly adjust to our client’s development practices means there is minimum downtime in bringing our team up to speed. Our lack of rigidity and openness builds synergy and trust, as our clients know the work will be done to their specifications.
Continual Improvement
As a software solutions provider, we always strive to develop our understanding and proficiency in the technologies we utilise, and their application, for our clients.
How we put it into practice:
Unless you’ve been to Vietnam, it is difficult to describe the value placed upon continual improvement, particularly in the field of technology. In tech driven cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, competition for the best jobs is fierce. At NashTech, as one of the country’s top three tech companies, we only hire the very best. Our promise to them is the opportunity to work with amazing clients around the world and a well-defined learning and development programme to ensure they remain at the top of their game.
The benefits:
In addition to attracting the best talent, this commitment to deepening existing skills and developing new ones ensures we are positioned to deliver the very best quality to our clients and, where appropriate, suggest new technologies that can future proof their technology.
Overall, establishing the values that matter most to us as an organisation and promoting them in everything we do, at all levels of the business, has established a sense of purpose and cohesiveness across NashTech: No easy feat in a global company with more than 2,000 employees.
