Nick Lonsdale, Chief Finance Officer – NashTech, shared NashTech’s journey in Vietnam and shared experiences from a company that successfully invested in the country.
NashTech has been in Vietnam for nearly 20 years and is the largest foreign business and second largest tech business in Vietnam. Along with dramatic technology innovation during the last 20 years, NashTech has continuously provided technology solutions to clients, ensuring they have the technology services they need to support growth and stay competitive in their marketplace.
NashTech decided to build its first development centre in Vietnam in 2000, seeing the opportunity of Vietnam as being a fast maturing economy and having a solid education system that is supported by the most stable government in Asia. Since then, NashTech has continuously transformed to stay at the top.
However, the vision never changed. Our vision is to develop our team as technology and business innovators with a focus on talent development. Our talent gain more experience by working on international projects for some of the most innovative companies in the world, such as Google, Ford and NSK.
Many of our projects make a tangible, significant impact in the day to day life of customers. The following are a couple of examples of recent work we have done:
The development includes car parking technology that combines IoT, GPS, Big Data & AI to predict parking availability before a driver arrives at their destination. The system automatically guides the user to the predicted parking lot, informs them of the cost to park in the specified location and when the timeslot is due to expire.
NashTech built an application that allows users to not only see, but also touch and interact in, a virtual world. Using Microsoft Hololens, the app allows customers to view their apartments, select layouts and arrange furniture before they are even built.

We see our people as the biggest future, so we focus on talent development, making sure they are well trained, well developed and well looked after. In return, we get high productivity. We make sure everyone is kept up to date with the latest trends and get as much opportunity as we can to give them direct experience of these technologies.
